ChessKidz, a local non-profit organization, is in need of sponsors who will help us to develop chess as a recognized and respected local activity for our youth.

You Can Help

A school can sponsor our mission by allowing our after-school program to teach children how to play chess at its campus. The organization will provide the services needed to teach and will never ask the school to do the footwork that requires running the program. Our program is hassle-free.

We are excited and enthusiastic to expand our program and provide instruction to the children. This program is community based with intentions to promote chess as a learning device. The best part of the program is that chess is naturally fun. Children will not realize how hard they are working because they are enjoying the benefits of chess as a game.

Benefits of Chess

Research proves that chess activities stimulate the learning process causing children to use focus, critical thinking, and pattern recognition skills. In studies like the 1977-1979 Chinese University study by Dr. Yee Wang Fung, students showed a 15% improvement in math and science test scores.

Each year ChessKidz continues to advance its mission. Through our programs and special projects, we have helped change many lives. In particular, the chess clubs have enjoyed great success in the past year, expanding to new schools in the Reno / Sparks area. We are currently teaching in the public school system as well as a handful of private schools.

The goal of ChessKidz is to continue to make a difference in children’s lives and empower them with skills to make competent decisions. Kids have power! With the help of donations from supporters like you, we will continue to see improvements in the programs that we are able to provide to the children of the public and private school systems.
